Sundance Film Festival would not be Sundance without extraordinary films. I had the honor to see the untold story of one of the greatest civil rights leaders of our time, Dolores Huerta. Many do not realize that she co-founded the @unitedfarmworkers along with Cesar Chavez, fought for the unionization of the agricultural farm workers of California, fought for environmental protection of these workers from the toxic chemicals and pesticides used on fruits and vegetables which led to the grape boycott and the creation of health and safety standards for all workers, continues to advocate and fight for equal rights and protections of women and LGTBQ, early childhood education, healthcare for the poor and undeserved, and her work goes on and on. Her story was written out of history and now with the ban of Ethnic Studies in Arizona and the introduction of the ban in 8 more states, not only will her story continue to be hidden from history but all ethnic/minorities who are part of United States history before the U.S. was the U.S. and who are an intricate part of it's history could be removed from public school education. At 86 years young, @doloreshuerta continues to be a force of change and action with the @doloreshuertafdn The work never stops, it only continue forward and I for one am honored to have been witnessed such honesty and beauty in a film. @doloresthemovie Thank YOU for this incredible experience. 🙏🏼❤️
