Taking an independent childbirth class is one of the best things couples can do, to know what their options are, current & up to date, evidence based maternity processes. Add that to hiring a doula and you have an unstoppable birth team. Your Birth team starts with you. Don't choose an OB because they're funny, a nice person , or I've been with them for years.
